Here in the picturesque Waveney Valley nestled between Norfolk and Suffolk is the small tranquil village of Needham, easily missed but definitely worth stopping at. Situated on the main road is the charming 18th century public house, The Red Lion where you can find the finest traditional ‘pub grub’ with a splendid selection of local beers all served to you by friendly and dedicated staff.

When you come to The Red Lion be prepared for great service with a smattering of fun from a happy team who really enjoy their job. In a nutshell; It's like coming home, but we do the washing up! It is a real family affair with Landlord, Mr Michael Massey and his partner Lisa, Mum and Dad, Sue and Joe and brother Kevin completing this close line up - four further crucial members of the team are Bradley, Bronwen, Cassie and Maria who are always energetic, smiling and attentive so you'll understand why we're always busy!

Inside, the Red Lion we boast a warm and affable atmosphere with a real fusion of traditional and contemporary design; there is a large log fire for those cold, dark winter months with a dining area that is perfect for cosy dinners.

Whilst still most definitely a pub with a thriving bar trade, our scrumptious food has brought a new following; whether you're after a quick snack on a weekday lunch or a slap-up feast with family and friends, there is some serious eating to be done here. Wonderfully fresh, seasonal produce with unusual twists on old favourites are always available, our Special's Board changes regularly taking advantage of the best the local markets have to offer.

Hidden at the rear is an extensive decked terrace with shade from sun and rain! We have a beautiful, large and secure garden suitable for children, with a bouncy castle, swings, slide and a sand pit. There are also Guinea pigs and fish to keep youngsters amused whilst the parents sit back and relax.
